Tomioka City in southern Gunma Prefecture has a warm climate.
It produces many special products such as meat and vegetables.
It’s most famous produce includes “konnyaku” ,”shiitake mushrooms”, and “negi” [japanese white onion].
The local women’s association creates local soup dishes featuring lots of these agricultural and livestock products.
The name “Koshine Miso Soup” is derived from the names of the local produce:”Ko” (konnyaku), “Shi” (shiitake mushrooms), “Ne” (negi).
