One of the regional specialties of Onoda City in Yamaguchi Prefecture is the Oyamada asari clam. This clam is not dug up from the beach like clams picked during low tide. Instead, these clams are unique in that divers dive in the Oyamada Bay and use rakes to pick the clams.
A soup made using this famous brand of Oyamada asari is particularly famous.
